The Quays Lake
In the 1970's the Quays Lake was a neglected meadow land. Between 1973 and 1976 the area was used for gravel extraction and in the 1980's the mine was turned in to a lake. Quayside Lake now is a beautiful habitat to much wildlife and a resource that is enjoyed by many people every day.
Explore Activity and Education Centre has decided to locate itself round this peaceful lake as it offers a huge sheltered lake and unspoilt woodland and grassy areas.
I hope you will enjoy this environment as much as we do and respect it the way it should be.
